Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes?
This post is a long time coming, but probably a necessary change. When the Fabulous Females blog was created, it was presumed that the members and readers would be just that... predominantly female. However, nearly 25% of FF's membership is comprised of fine young gentlemen. (Hello Adam, Ben, CT, David!) A sizeable number of other guys have also been refreshing and honest in responding to our commentaries, diatribes, observations, and occasional bitching.
Soo.... perhaps its time to get with the times - meaning a template change from pink to something more, uh, gender neutral? Not to mention a Name/Title that's more encompassing to all involved.
First of all, I wanted to seek input on this change. Is everyone open to it, and do you think it is needed? Second of all, does anyone have suggestions for a newer, more appropriate Name for this forum... We're looking for everyone's voice, so please, PLEASE respond with your own! =)

I, for one, think the name and colors should stay. Any guy uncomfortable with the color pink never met my grandfather.

I like it the way it is...unless others are feeling particularly excluded.
Then I vote for something corny like Spectacular Singles.
Even though not all of us are single. Just most of the ones who post.
Suck. Quandary!

The guys who are members should just start wearing skirts and get it over with. Hell, the women should too. That might solve most of their problems.

Aw, you're a sweet guy, Matthew.

And hey, I'd like to see some of our regular commentors incorporated. How about quaere verum and The Science Girl? Would y'all like to be contributors?
And if we're going to change it, what should we call it?

I've thought about asking to contribute, especially because I hate feeling like my own blog is too heavily focused on questions of singleness and dating. If you guys want me to, I'd be happy to join.
I do agree that we should change the name and color scheme, especially because we may attract more male commentators, and I've really enjoyed hearing the male perspective in our recent discussions.

Sciencegirl, can I have your email again? Then you'll be an all encompassing member!

Being the new guy and all, not to mention one of the youngest on here, I'll abstain and accept whatever the consensus of the older, wiser ones decide.
But if you decide to go with another color, I certainly won't complain.

Basically I agree whole-heartedly with Matthew (btw, I found the best deal on this incredible plaid skirt this weekend).
If the aim is to change the site to increase interest / traffic / readership, then, yeah, a change is probably in order.
If the aim is to stay original, I wouldn't let the recent spike in guys posting cause you to make drastic changes...at least not just yet.
Either way, I need to find a purse to match this skirt.

David, I have a darling clutch you could borrow.
So, Jen, what's the new color going to be? And the title????
I propose:
"Writing on Blogs with Boys"
"XX+XY=??"
"How to Agree on Movie Rentals Without Really Trying"
"Wanna Hang Out Sometime?"
Okay, that's all I've got for now

I vote green. Or a combination of green and blue.
Oh, and how about "For the Time Being" as a title???
It captures exactly what we're doing, right here, right now, in this point in our lives. It's all-inclusive of gender, age, and marital status. It can be serious or humorous. It encompasses everything we can talk about -- dating, marriage, philosophizing, stories of our day-to-day lives, forums for discussion, singleness, faith, living alone or in community, etc.
What do you think?

In keeping with the original, how about calling it "Fabulous People" and making the color a traditionally gender-neutral yellow or green?
On the other hand ... Not that I'm partial to pink myself, but I think that this is one of the few places where that is all about us, eh, las solteritas. Sure, the boys have played along, but they played on our terms. I'm not so sure I like the fact that that a couple of guys are thrown into the mix and suddenly we're making the field level. I fear we'd end up playing a different game.

It seems to me like quite a few of you all favor the status quo, keeping the name - and the pink. Personally, I'm somewhat neutral about it all... but at the same time, don't want to alienate guys who want to write in. I've had many say they read regularly, but have never commented.
